Compared with the previous multi-part version, the new adapter looks cleaner when installed and places the hook at the correct fixed position without relying on the narrower original hook.

What Does the Java Neo Hook Adapter Resolve?
Each variant is designed around the tyre, rear-rack and easywheel setup of the bicycle. Selecting the correct version ensures the adapter places the folded wheel in the intended position.
Replaces the Original Hook
Some newer Java Neo batches use a hook with an opening that is too narrow to be shifted farther behind the triangle tube. The integrated wider hook retains the folded front wheel at the new position.
Allows a Larger Chainring
Moving the hook farther from the chainring area creates additional allowance for compatible drivetrain upgrades using chainrings up to 60T on both 16-inch and 20-inch Java Neo models.
Corrects Folded-Wheel Clearance
Depending on the selected variant, the adapter corrects wheel alignment, prevents tyre contact, increases Billy Bonkers clearance or keeps the tyre clear of the extender easywheel.
Smoother Folded Rolling and Corrected Wheel Alignment
On Java Neo setups without a rear rack or easywheel extender, the front wheel forms part of the bicycle’s folded rolling position.
The correct no-rack variant repositions the wheel to correct excessive slanting and prevents the folded tyre from brushing against the frame, crank or nearby components.

Additional Clearance for Billy Bonkers 20 × 2.0 Tyres
Billy Bonkers 20 × 2.0 tyres are significantly wider than the regular Java Neo tyre setup and require different folded-wheel geometry.
The Billy Bonkers variant creates the required allowance for the wider tyre and increases clearance between the rear Billy Bonkers tyre and the main frame when the bicycle is folded.
Keeps the Front Tyre Clear of the Extender Easywheel
For setups using a rear rack, easywheel extender or both, the adapter positions the folded front wheel more compactly against the frame.
This prevents the extender’s easywheel from rubbing against the front tyre while retaining the increased allowance between the integrated hook and chainring.
The extender-specific variants are designed to work ideally with The Bike Atrium Custom Easywheel Extender for Java Neo.

The four versions are not interchangeable. Select according to your tyre and whether the bicycle uses a rear rack or easywheel extender.
20” Billy Bonkers — Without Rack / Extender
For a Java Neo 20-inch using Billy Bonkers 20 × 2.0 tyres without a rear rack or easywheel extender.
20” Billy Bonkers — With Rack / Extender
For a Java Neo 20-inch using Billy Bonkers 20 × 2.0 tyres together with a rear rack, easywheel extender or both.
16” / 20” Stock Tyres — Without Rack / Extender
For a Java Neo 16-inch or 20-inch using its regular tyre setup without a rear rack or easywheel extender.
16” / 20” Stock Tyres — With Rack / Extender
For a Java Neo 16-inch or 20-inch using regular tyres together with a rear rack, easywheel extender or both.
If the rear tyre touches the main frame when folded, the Billy Bonkers-type adapter geometry may be required. Send us a clear photograph of your folded setup so we can recommend the correct version.

Java Neo fork fittings may vary slightly between production batches. The newer integrated hook is designed to fit virtually all batches. Customers may send us a photograph before ordering, or contact us after receiving the product if they encounter a fitting issue. We will help identify the correct solution for their batch.
Reinforced at the Hook and Mounting Points
The adapter is 3D printed in Singapore using black PLA. The most important sections—particularly the hook and bolt-hole areas—are printed solid internally instead of being partially hollow.
This provides additional material and support at the areas where force is most concentrated during normal folding, hooking and rolling use.

Materials, Hardware and Package Contents
One Set Includes

No Drilling or Permanent Modification Required
Only the existing Java Neo hook needs to be removed. The new mounting hardware is already installed on the adapter before shipment.
- Remove the original Java Neo hook from the fork.
- Position the new adapter temporarily to identify where its integrated hook will contact the triangle tube.
- Apply the included PEVA padding around the new hook contact position.
- Secure the adapter using an Allen key on the pre-installed M5 bolt, then confirm the folded-wheel position and clearance.
Complimentary installation is available when the adapter is purchased during a walk-in visit to The Bike Atrium.
Do You Need This Adapter If You Already Have a Rear Rack?
A rear rack already supports the folded bicycle on its rack wheels. Therefore, we do not generally recommend purchasing this adapter solely to improve rolling if the bicycle already rolls correctly with its rack.
The adapter remains useful for a rack-equipped Java Neo when you need to:
- Replace an original hook that is too narrow
- Create more clearance for a larger chainring
- Position the folded front wheel more compactly
- Prevent an extender easywheel from rubbing against the front tyre
For stability, a rear-rack setup generally works best together with a suitable wheel extender.
